She deserves all the work that went into this.

My first piece with my new style...and the last serious artwork to be done before my exams. I finished this on *checks date* 29th April.

Granted, it doesn't actually represent her, but I 1) forgot to ask what I needed to know, and 2) I couldn't see much regarding a few references I had at hand (no, that doesn't include the photo you gave me, dear). So I sorta ended up doing it somewhat different...but it turned out lovely anyway.

The few things that did go wrong were that I couldn't see whether the parting in the hair was at the side or not, and I was misled by another picture, where I asked about it after I'd finished everything o_O whoops.

I did use an actual photo, but that was for several things like the eye, the nose (I think I failed re that area), the hair (to some point xD she didn't have visible frizz) and some other bits - I forgot specifically what they were. I tried to make it as accurate as possible while sticking to the image in my mind's eye - not an easy task. But I did accomplish it.

The words in the background are part of the translated lyrics of Peace of Mind, from Soukyuu no Fafner: Right of Left (otherwise known as Fafner of the Azure) [link] because the song was what inspired the layout and the pic.



A little message that comes with this.

When we met, I didn't know that you and I would share so much, and be so similar. It didn't - and still doesn't - matter that the Atlantic Ocean and the economic crisis are in our way, and that the only means of communication was through the Internet.

You chose to walk with me, and I can't believe you did. For my entire life, there was no one I could trust to walk with - until now.

Your appearance doesn't matter to me. What I drew is what I see you as.

This is more than a birthday gift - this is a thank you, an apology for everything I troubled you with. I know you forgive me, but if this is all I can do, then I will do it.

It may only have been a short while, but I think you deserve more of my trust that you are receiving now.And I will...I am ready to trust you more.

You gave me a listening ear, and talked with me...you are the first person who said I was fun to talk to. You gave me your presence, your faith, your loyalty - in exchange I give you a binding, true friendship, and a place in my memory and heart...forever.

To me, you are truly beautiful.

Thank you, dear.

I saved the best for last.

Dear, your words made me tear up and they made me smile. Seeing the 'aight' there in the image made me chuckle too.

Thank you so much for all the effort you but into the image. It looks beautiful. Everything just looks great. The hair, the skin, the shirt...Heck, I want that sweater.
